Raffle is one of those guys you hope they keep around, He's shown he can score when put with top lines, but hes usually quite good on the d side of the puck and rarely takes a shift off. The team speaks fondly of him, he took a paycut to stay and although I'm sure there will be guys pushing for his spot he's one of those guys you don't mind seeing in the lineup At the end of the day I would just settle for Hockey, Its odd being in November with no NHL hockey... |

And after each trade deadline I am so happy to see raffl wearing orange and black
He is far from a star but he is one of my favorite flyers, along with Laughton |

If the flyers resign raffle will speak volumes what thy think of what they have in the system; even if a 1 year deal.
As you said assuming flyers are in the playoff hunt your better off keeping hi instead of a 4th rd pick imo; though depends on how younger players look. |

Just wondering how all of the European leagues continue to operate, most since September. And the NHL can’t seem to get off the ground with a start date several months later. |

Sometimes keeping a player and not taking a low asset speaks more volume to future players, Under Snider Philly was a little more of a destination for free agents, partially of course due to his complete willingness to take some chances and lay bucks out for players, but also due to his loyalty to players Read so many past players comments and most all said Philly was a classy organization, To keep Raf after he took a pay cut to stay might upset some, but could do alot to continue attracting free agents and getting homegrown to stay and sign with us |

Has anyone in recent years noticed Brayden Coburn in Tampa Bay? At age 35, how far might his play tailed off.
As awesome as it would be to pull in Chara, Coburn has one year left on his deal at 1.7 million and Tampa is looking for cap relief. As stated, Coburn can’t be the same guy who played with Kimmo Timonen since forever but he’s still been there before.
Any interest to have him fill in next to Provorov for a season? |

1) Coburn plays the left side
2) Only usable for 14-15 mins a night MAX, so a Provy pairing would be a no-go
3) Flyers would need to get rid of a roster dman and Tampa would need to add one, so which cheap dman that's on the roster would the Flyers trade for Coburn? |

Well. Will depend on the prospects. Some need more time to season, if more from the college ranks sign, what happens on the trade market and the expansion draft.
I get what you’re saying. But frost shouldn’t be on the 4 th line. While a bunch are high on Allison or tanner being on the team or Linus (only signed for this year) they still have to earn their spot. Injuries as well.
To me there are one or two players higher in the lineup I could see them trying to move if some of the kids prove it.
Vet can move around t he lineup and plays pk. Could easily see him retained for another year. Let’s hope the log jam on the first three lines works itself out.

You don’t know any of this to be true due to the following.
1) Coburn played right side for the Flyers his entire career as a Flyer. Timonen was the one who had to play left side.
2) I’ve stated Coburn is likely not the same player he was but his limited minutes is also due to how strong Tampa’s defensive depth has been. Do you really think Coburn is taking ice time away from Hedman, McDonough, Shattenkirk or Sergachev? Anton Stralman and Dan Girardi were also apart of that lightning defense within the past 5 years.
3) We’re likely moving Ghost‘s 4.5 million deal after picking up Gus, which has been highly speculated all offseason. |

Why can’t frost be on the 4th line? The 4th construction isn’t what it was 30 years ago. No reason at all he can’t start there if that is the case

I’m asking if Coburn can be used the same way he was as a Flyer before being traded. He obviously wasn’t being played with Hedman like Coburn spent most of his career playing with Timonen but Coburn’s numbers are actually still pretty good. If member serves, Niskanen wasn’t playing too pair anywhere until he came to Philadelphia to play with Provorov. So yes, I’m asking if Coburn might be able to replace Coburn 5 on 5 next to Provorov for one year. |

Well why not? I’m not arguing, I’m just waiting for a valid reason because truth be told, I haven’t watched him consistently in the couple of years. |

That was why I asked how you see the pairs shaking out. I want being snarky, I honestly want to know what you think.
Im not sure if they will be able to deal Gostisbehere. And While it is still early, I am somewhat concerned that Myers hasn't signed yet.
Im also not sure that Coburn is much more than a 3rd pair guy at this point in his career. Unlike Niskanen, I don't think he could handle ANY minutes playing next to Provorov.
That being said would this be what you envisioned?
Provy Coburn
Myers Sanheim
Braun Hagg Gustafsson Ghost.
Unless they deal Ghost its all moot anyway. And trading any assets to acquire Coburn is probably not something I want to see them doing. In all honesty I think its time for Provorov to step and be the veteran guy we think we need.

Yes, this was my take. I don’t think we have anyone on this roster who can keep up with what Provorov faces nightly. I still don’t understand why we brought back Justin Braun. |

I think they may envision Myers being that guy sooner than later. And maybe he thinks they see him that way as well. Hence that is why he hasn't signed yet.

Unless there is not ahl which is possible. I would not play frost on the 4 th line as opposed to heavier minutes and all game situations in the a.
Log jam as in players signed that have proven to be nhl players. What positions do you think are open for competition besides a 4 th maybe far reaching 3 rd line. |

Still dont see this log jam. Guess in quantity only. |
